Crochet Grafitti Bikini

Despite my mother warning me that I'd be arrested and thrown in jail for years I ventured out last night into the dark and empty little town of Solvang CA. I wore black (which is usual) so I could blend in with the background and walked quickly with my head down because I was on a mission. Folded up and shoved in my purse was a tiny blue bikini I had crocheted just hours before.

The first statue I walked by and my intended target was in the center of a large water fountain which looked slippery and dangerous upon closer investigation so I kept walking. I ended up at a smaller but more easily accessible fountain a few feet away. I grabbed the bikini and dropped my purse down then scaled the tiny wall expertly. Once the itty-bitty bikini was tied in two bows I jumped down and walked away giddy.

I was not arrested and have yet to serve any jail time for this crime.

My son and I took a walk into town this morning to find that the bikini was not only still there but had been neatly arranged around the vessel the girl is carrying! I was too nervous to fumble with that in the dark. I stopped to take a picture and tourists were stopping and laughing at the well dressed statue. No doubt they were happy that their pre-pubescent sons were no longer exposed to breasts at eye-level. (God forbid.)

So not only did I brighten my day, I made a few tourists stop and smile.
